The Tribunal has unconditionally approved the large merger whereby Super Group Dealerships, a division of Super Group Trading (Pty) Ltd (“Super Group Dealerships”) intends to acquire A Business of Fiat Alfa Jeep in Arnold Chatz Cars Constantia Kloof (Pty) Ltd (“Arnold Chatz Cars”).

 

The acquiring group comprises various motor vehicle dealerships which hold franchise agreements across many original equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”) including Toyota, Mercedes Benz, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo (“Alfa”), Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, GWM, Isuzu, Hino, Nissan, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo, Suzuki, Renault, Mazda and Ford. The dealerships further comprise adjacent used vehicle sales, parts sales and servicing businesses.

 

The target business is a franchise motor dealership - with respect to Fiat, Alfa and Jeep OEM brands - based in Gauteng. The dealership also comprises an adjacent used vehicle and parts sales and servicing business.
