RULES AND FLOWCHARTS

The following rules form part of the Competition Act, No 89, of 1998 (Act) and set out the practical procedures that should be followed. These include, but are not limited to, how to file with the Competition Tribunal, how the Act is applied and the types of cases which are considered.

RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF PROCEEDINGS

These rules are issued in terms of Section 43F and Regulations relating to a Divestiture Recommendation by the Commission in terms of Section 43D (2) of the Competition Act, No. 89 of 1998 (as amended)
RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF PROCEEDINGS IN THE COMPETITION TRIBUNAL

Effective from 1 February 2001

These rules are issued in terms of section 27(2) of the Competition Act, 1998 (Act No. 89 of 1998).

TRIBUNAL'S DIRECTIVE FOR HEARING CASES

This directive replaces the Tribunal Chairperson’s Directive of 9 June 2020.

RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF PROCEEDINGS IN THE COMPETITION COMMISSION

Effective from 1 February 2001

These rules are issued in terms of section 21 (4) of the Competition Act, 1998 (Act No. 89 of 1998).

COMPETITION APPEAL COURT RULES

Effective from 1 September 2000

These rules are issued in terms of section 38(1)(c) of Competition Act, 1998 (Act 89 of 1998).
