MMU Property Investments (Pty) Ltd and the dealership businesses conducted by CFAO Mobility (Pty) Ltd in respect of the Ford Malmesbury, Ford Citrusdal and Ford Springbok dealerships

The Competition Tribunal (“Tribunal”) has unconditionally approved the merger in which MMU Property Investments (Pty) Ltd (“MMU”) will acquire the Ford Malmesbury, Ford Citrusdal and Ford Springbok dealership businesses from CFAO Mobility (Pty) Ltd. Following the merger, MMU will have sole control of the three dealerships.

MMU is active in the retail motor industry which includes: (i) the sale of new and pre-used passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles; (ii) the sale of parts and accessories; and (iii) aftermarket services, through its dealerships in Limpopo and Northwest. MMU holds a range of brands including Ford, Hyundai, Nissan, Foton, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, KIA, TATA, Daewoo, Renault and GWM.

Ford Malmesbury is located in the Western Cape while Ford Citrusdal and Ford Springbok are located in the Northern Cape.

 

Vukile Property Fund Ltd and Sanlam Life Insurance Ltd in respect of the rental enterprise known as Chatsworth Centre

The Tribunal has unconditionally approved the merger in which Vukile Property Fund Ltd ("Vukile") will acquire shareholding in the rental enterprise known as Chatsworth Centre from Sanlam Life Insurance Ltd. Following the merger, Vukile will jointly own and control Chatsworth Centre, which will continue to operate as a going concern.

Vukile operates as a retail property focused real estate investment trust. It owns a portfolio of properties in South Africa, Spain and Portugal. Vukile is also involved in property asset management and owns a combination of retail and office properties as well as vacant land.

The Chatsworth Centre is a small regional shopping centre located in Chatsworth, KwaZulu Natal.
